Israel Matzav: Iran talks: Munich II or Exodus I
I like Dan F's take on the P 5+1 talks, which resume on Wednesday in Baghdad.
The P5+1 talks with the Iranians set for Baghdad on Wednesday are not being held to stop Iran from producing nuclear weapons. They’re being held to declare “encouraging progress” in the talks, making it more difficult for Israel to preemptively attack Iran’s nuclear program. The fear is that Israelis (Jews) will take it upon themselves to save themselves, by themselves, while not asking for anyone’s permission. Such a global panic attack has taken on biblical proportions. Beginning with the Jews enslaved in Egypt, Jews becoming “too strong” is a leitmotif and a pretext for Judeocide that courses through the Torah – and Jewish history.
Anyway, for the present round of talks the fix is in. But the real drama has yet to begin. Will the Jewish State defy the Nations and live, or take the line of least resistance and settle for “life” under the constant threat of annihilation? We should have Israel’s answer before the U.S. elections.
Indeed.

Israel Matzav: What a great idea! Kirk wants to count 'Palestinian refugees'
Jonathan Schanzer reports that Senator Mark Kirk (R-Il) is about to stir up a hornet's nest in a good way. Kirk wants to count how many 'Palestinian refugees' are actually serviced by UNRWA. It's certainly not close to the 5,000,000 claimed (up from 750,000 at most in 1948). And not everyone serviced by UNRWA is going to qualify.
…
Read the whole thing. The best part about it? It's an election year and therefore it would be politically toxic for Obama to veto it.
FP: An excellent idea, indeed—should have been done a long time ago. But that’s precisely why, election or no election, it’ll never fly.
Bill Katz: OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM AT WORK
There's growing outrage over the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, a "meeting" planned for Maui in August, with first-class accommodations and great recreation, with a price tag estimated at one million dollars...billed to the public. And yes, that's the Ninth Circuit we're talking about – the most liberal federal judicial circuit in the country, where judges regularly express their deep emotional attachment to the people, diversity, the downtrodden, and, apparently now, caddies.
FP: There is hardly an institution—public or private, for profit or non-profit—that is not riddled through with corruption and hypocrisy. That’s an aspect and driver of decline.
Also:
It took the internet to do it, but a North Carolina school district has finally suspended a teacher who told her students that they could be arrested for criticizing President Obama. The school district did nothing at first, but the teacher's remarks had been caught on a cell-phone video, and the recording has gone viral on YouTube. Once again the alternative media does the job. The mainstream media was out to lunch.
FP: If they had to suspend all incompetent teachers, there would be very few left teaching. That is not the solution. It’s creating a functioning education system with competent educators. But by whom and how?
China Fake Parts 'Used in US Military Equipment'
Vast numbers of counterfeit Chinese electronic parts are being used in US military equipment, a key Senate committee has reported.
A year-long probe found 1,800 cases of fake parts in US military aircraft, the Senate Armed Services Committee found.
More than 70% of an estimated one million suspect parts were traced back to China, the report said.
It blamed weaknesses in the US supply chain, and China's failure to curb the counterfeit market.
The failure of a key part could pose safety and national security risks and lead to higher costs for the Pentagon, the committee said.
US servicemen rely on a variety of "small, incredibly sophisticated electronic components" found in night vision systems, radios and GPS devices and the failure of a single part could put a soldier at risk, the report said.
It highlighted suspect counterfeit parts in SH-60B helicopters used by the Navy, in C-130J and C-27J cargo planes and in the Navy's P-8A Poseidon plane.
