JoshuaPundit: Obama's Idea Of A Good Jew - A Nazi Supporter And Collaborator
May is officially Jewish Heritage month, and as is standard on these sort of occasions, the White House has issued a proclamation. This month's proclamation lauded and honored none other than artist Gertrude Stein, with the official release including the following statement, “Their history of unbroken perseverance and their belief in tomorrow’s promise offers a lesson not only to Jewish Americans, but to all Americans. From Aaron Copland to Albert Einstein, Gertrude Stein to Justice Louis Brandeis.”
Allan Dershowitz, noted author, defense attorney and Harvard Law professor jumped quickly on this:
“Gertrude Stein was herself a major collaborator with the Vichy regime and a supporter of its pro-Nazi leadership.”
“Stein’s closest friend, and a man who greatly influenced her turn toward fascism was Bernard Fay, who the Vichy government put in charge of hunting down Masons, Jews and other perceived enemies of the State. Fay was more than a mere collaborator as suggested by the Met exhibit. He was a full blown Nazi operative, responsible for the deaths of many people. After the war, when the horrendous results were known to all, Gertrude wrote in support of Fay when he was placed on trial for his Nazi war crimes.”
…
As an exemplar of 'Jewish heritage', she's a curius [sic] choice since aside from being a Nazi sympathizer she was totally divorced from that heritage by choice during her entire life.
…
Just another piece of an increasingly clear picture that's been evident ever since Barack Obama's relationship with people like Edward Said, Jeremiah Wright, Khalid al-Mansour, Al Sharpton, Louis Farakhan, Bill Ayers and Rashid Khalidi was revealed back when he was candidate Obama to those who were willing to open their eyes and look at it.
FP: I suspect that, like in so many other instances, this had more to do with the significantly ignorant from-the-top Obama administration than anything else. But this is not an exculpation, quite the opposite: it demonstrates that the proclamation was not genuine, but like all other matters of this administration, superficial: an electoral tool to impress the Jewish voter.
Since he knows the Jews “are in the bag” so to speak and most of them don’t know who and what Stein was, Obama had no interest or need to invest too much time and effort into researching the background for this proclamation and that’s where the marination in the society listed by JoshuaPundit kicked in. Debbie Schlussel: Source: Obama May Release Bin Laden Death Photos to Aid Re-Election
As we all know, sunshine is the best disinfectant. And, yet, Barack Obama’s early life and a good deal of his Presidency is shrouded in secrecy. It’s not just that he won’t ask his friends to release video of himself applauding anti-Semitic, anti-Israel comments made by Rashid Khalidi in the presence of Obama, William Ayers, and several others (and a Milwaukee-based Muslim kids’ dance troupe that simulates beheadings of Americans and Jews). It’s not just that he won’t release transcripts from any of the colleges he attended or grad school. It’s that he won’t release the photos and videos of the killing of Osama Bin Laden and his subsequently dead body. But he might end up releasing those secreted materials as his re-election hopes narrow.
After the killing of Bin Laden just over a year ago, Barack Obama refused to release any visual evidence of Bin Laden’s dead body and how he ended up meeting his 72 re-virginized ugly chicks. And Judicial Watch, which does excellent work in seeking to disinfect America from partisan secrecy, filed suit against the CIA and the Department of Defense. A judge recently ruled against Judicial Watch in ridiculous reasoning not based on any American law, statute, or Constitutional provision. The judge held that it might offend other countries and hurt our relations with them, which is interesting because all of these countries pretend they are against Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, so how could they be offended? (Obama also insisted, in his speech after Bin Laden was killed, that Bin Laden “was not an Islamic leader.”) And, again, whether or not they are offended does not trump any American’s or American organization’s right to obtain photos and video via a Freedom of Information Act request, unless the items sought are the subject of an ongoing investigation or would compromise sources and/or methods–neither of which is the case here. The potential to harm international relations with the release of a photo is not a legitimate legal definition of “national security risk.” We aren’t talking confidential, classified information in a diplomatic cable, here.
FP: Aside from the very telling secrecy, note the dhimmification of the American legal system.
John Hinderaker: Al Qaeda’s Favorite Networks
Yesterday the federal government made available some of the correspondence that was captured in the raid that killed bin Laden. I am still working my way through it; one of the more entertaining dispatches is from al-Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn and was written in late January 2011. Gadahn, you may remember, is the American convert who is prized by the organization for his knowledge of American media and culture. The most interesting part of Gadahn’s letter is where he discusses the news outlets al Qaeda can use to disseminate its message:
…
Remember the aftermath of 9/11, when many journalists argued that they were obliged to remain neutral between the U.S. and its terrorist enemies? Al Qaeda appreciates their scrupulousness. Gadahn also identified some individual journalists who he thought would be helpful in getting out the group’s message. Note an old acquaintance to whom we have paid little or no attention in recent years in the first sentence:
As for the second method, which I suggest, it is close to what the Shaykh mentioned of communicating with ‘Abd-al-Bari Atwan [editor-in chief of the London-based pan-Arab newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabi] and Robert Fisk. I suggest that we send the material-or materials-to a group of writers and professional or independent journalists, who have shown interest in al-Qa’ida issues, from different countries. In Britain, the two journalists Atwan and Fisk, and probably others, in America Brian Ross, Simon Hirsh [Seymour Hersh?] and Jerry [possibly Matthew?] Van Dyke and others, in Canada Eric Margolis and Gwynne Dyer. In Europe, the Norwegian journalist who spent some time with the students in Kroner and released a film that was condemned in the West because he shows that the students are humans that have families and children and that they laugh and eat as the rest of the people.
FP: This is the kind of evidence that reveals who are useful idiots which they cannot deny.
Hans Bader: An America of Inequalities
Increasingly, ordinary people get prosecuted for trifles, while politically connected people get a pass for the exact same crime, or far worse behavior.
A whale-watcher is being criminally prosecuted merely for lying about whistling at a whale. But former New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine, a big Obama booster who “stole” $1.2 billion, is not being prosecuted, despite his investment firm’s massive diversion of funds from client trust accounts, a crime that Corzine “personally” ordered.
Meanwhile, a dairy-farming family in Maryland is getting prosecuted by the federal government for “structuring” — breaking up bank deposits into deposits of less than $10,000 at a time to avoid scrutiny. But former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer got a free pass for the very same offense, even though he (unlike the hapless dairy farmers) used the practice in order to hide criminal activity, making his actions much worse. As Walter Olson notes, “structuring” is “the federal criminal offense of splitting up bank deposits so as to keep them under a threshold such as $10,000 above which banks have to report transactions to the government. Structuring is unlawful whether or not it occurs in conjunction with any other legal offense . . . Nor is there any requirement that the person be aware that there is a law banning structuring; someone who gets wind that transactions over $10,000 are reportable, and decides ‘What’s up with that? I’ll just make $9,000 deposits’, has broken the Bank Secrecy Act.”
Increasingly, the federal government persecutes the innocent and punishes whistleblowers, while turning a blind eye to the guilty.
In the auto bailouts, non-union retirees, pension funds, and bondholders got ripped off, while the powerful UAW union, which endorsed Obama, got special, preferential treatment and a big chunk of the automakers’ stock.
FP: An integral part and accelerator of societal decline.
Elder of Ziyon: Lebanon outsourcing education to - Iran!
A couple of months ago I posted about how Hezbollah was imposing its curriculum on all schools in Lebanon by forcing everyone to take a class on "the resistance."
Afterwards, I wrote sarcastically, "When will they cut out the middleman and just let Ayatollah Khamanei write the course materials for every class?"
Education Minister Hasan Diab expressed hope Thursday that Lebanon would soon sign a cooperation agreement in education with Iran.
“We look forward to signing an agreement in the near future to benefit from the educational experience of Iran,” Diab told reporters after receiving his Iranian counterpart Hamid-Reza Haji Babaee, who is accompanying Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi on an official visit.
Diab said the agreement would help the implementation of the ministry’s “salvation” plan for the sector.
Asked by reporters about remarks that the agreement would amount to a “Persian invasion,” Diab said: “This is untrue ... the Education Ministry is a sovereign ministry and in many aspects, it is crucial for all Lebanese.”
There are many reasons to overthrow Bashir Assad, but one of them not often mentioned often enough: it would weaken Hezbollah and give hope that Lebanon can become independent of Islamist rule again.
And dangerous ideas like having Lebanon depend on the mullahs in Iran to teach their students would not even be considered.
FP: Between Wahabbism from Saudi Arabia and Shiism from Iran the world is getting pretty Islamized and prepared for Jihad, while the West is indoctrinates with multiculturalism, combats “Islamophobia” and funds and supports Islamist regimes. The future looks bright.
